Well it seems the mini-pet races have begun.....meaning, whoever makes it to the district first gets to show their pet.
Under that condition, of only 20 pets at a time, I think it's kinda silly.

I need to turn off sound just to enter an outpost. And then back on again whenever I leave one. Yeah, thats a brilliant solution, no annoyance added.
Solution: just shut all pets the heck up everywhere. It was annoying listening to my guildmates bring them out in missions anyway. Minis are a fun small visual diversion, they don't need to be given personal loudspeakers.

I thought it's the first 20 peoples who can summon the mini pet get to show it off?

Yeup, hence *race*. That's what kinda makes me confused...If only so many can use it at a time, why at all?

So having to turn the sound off in towns and then having to turn it back on when your out of a town, every single time, is not annoying at all is it?
I like to hear when I am in a fight, I like to hear spells being cast and when dying nightmares popup. I don't like hearing the constant flap of 5 dragons, or the constant grunt of a troll following some wammo running in circles.
Add a option to turn pet noises off and everyone is happy. Not too much to ask really now is it.

This update is a good thing. Went to nice, quiet LA district 7 and had a minipet party with many others. The Canthan New Year's decorations and music added to the tranquility. Best of all, nobody brought any really noisy pets. We chatted and stuff, made lots of jokes and stuff about minipets, and things like that.
We need a mini dagnar so we can re-enact the end of the frost gate mission in towns!

still its really not that big of a deal. you people are just overreacting over the smallest, most insignificant, unimportant thing. is sound really that important in towns? before this update did you see complain about the noises minipets make that players took out when they were doing missions? watch as time passes you guys will get over it and not even notice noises the minipets make and players using this feature will die down. soon no one will feel like bringing out their minipets

Normally the sounds aren't that big a deal, but in these minipet parties, all is quiet (most of the pets are pretty quiet). Your ears adjust to the quietness. Suddenly a jungle troll comes out "MROAH!". It hurts. Trust me.

If the sound literally hurts you, maybe you need to turn down your speakers a little.

Complain about it? Are you kidding? I leave games where people refuse to turn off their noisy pets.

I love the addition, and I can live with the noise. Heck, in a busy city I expect more noise and now its there. I love this personal touch - now I feel like I really have pets because they can follow me wherever I go.

Uh....... You might wanna get that checked out.....
But yes, a minipet sound control would make everyone happy. perhaps a raise on the mini cap/district too.

What? It's wrong nowadays to step out of the way of an annoyance? I play to have fun, I don't feel I have some kind of bizarre obligation to team up with people who annoy me.

This complaint ranks up there with the complaint that the "Please take a break" message was offensive. Good job guys.
EDIT: And if you dont want to turn all your sound volume off, there's a slider option to tone down different sounds. Whichever category minipets are, just turn that down. Sheesh.

Yeah, you're right. A continuous cacophony of crappy repetitive sounds that completely destroy whatever ambience might have been created by subtle environmental sounds and award-winning Jeremy Soule music is obviously an annoyance on the same scale as a tiny message that flashes by once every hour. Bravo for pointing this out.

As I said. Go to options and turn down the background sounds. You can still listen to your award-winning Jeremy Soule music in peace and hopefully leave the rest of us alone.
